Vegetables of choice for soup
1/4 barley or,
1/4 brown rice

Directions:
Boil bones and skin picked free of most meat (cut meat up later and add to soup). To bones add garlic, salt, pepper and boil. Simmer 2-3 hours.

Meanwhile in separate pot cook vegetables, carrots, potatoes, turnip (onion if you like), add the barley or brown rice.

Strain bones - drain vegetables but keep some of the juice, if you need it - depends on how much.

Put bone broth, vegetables, cut up chicken, and more garlic, salt and pepper to taste in soup pan, and boil.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Cold winter days and Dad's homemade soup, with big chunks of potatoes for Tanya. She always got to pick first so she got the potatoes
