½ c butter (original recipe was shortening)
½ c brown sugar
½ c granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
1 T water
½ tsp vanilla
¾ c flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 ½ c old fashioned oats
chocolate chips & walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars. Stir in beaten egg, water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, oats, cc & nuts. Put rounded spoonful on greased baking sheet.

Bake 375º 10 - 15 minutes

Lisa's variation: omit chocolate chips, add 1 Tbsp cinnamon, ½ tsp cardamon or nutmeg, raisins and chopped pecans
