12 slices bread (oatmeal bread is good)
1 stick butter (room temperature)
cheese (pepper Jack, or extra sharp cheddar) (medium slices to cover 6 pieces of bread)
optional: sliced ham

Directions:
Directions:
Heat electric griddle to 375º. If butter is cold, microwave to soften. Butter one side of 6 pieces of bread, place butter side down on griddle. Cover bread slices with cheese. Cover with ham if using. Butter one side of the remaining 6 slices of bread, place butter side up on top of sandwiches. Cook until golden brown on bottom, flip, and repeat. Eat.
