2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cream

Directions:

Blend the flour, baking powder, salt, and spices. Cream the butter and beat in sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and cream. Stir in the flour mixture, then add enough of the remaining flour to stiffen the dough for rolling. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for several hours. Preheat an oven to 375ºF. Place the dough on a lightly floured cutting board and roll to 1/8" thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough in the shapes. Place the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
