Ingredients:  
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 to 1 1/2 cups flour
1 T shortening
1 tsp vanilla
SYRUP
1 cup sugar
Water to cover sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix well and roll out on a floured surface, cut into strips.
Fry until golden brown in hot oil.

Boil sugar mixture until to starts to thicken.


Note: Caro syrup works well too.
