Pumpkin Base
6 eggs beaten
1 - 29 oz can pumpkin
1 1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp cinnamon
1 - 13 oz can evaporated milk and add enough regular milk to make it be 2 cups

Mix and pour all ingredients into a greased 9 x 13 pan.

Topping
1 stick butter at room temperature
1 yellow cake mix - plain, no pudding
1 c chopped pecans

Directions:

Cut butter into cake mix, mix thoroughly, add nuts. Sprinkle over pumpkin mixture and press slightly into pan. Bake at 350° F degrees for 50 minutes or until the mixture springs back.

“I got this recipe from Michael's dad, Jerry Mungovan. It tastes like pumpkin pie, but, at least to me, is simpler to make. Like so many of my recipes it is on an odd piece of paper, in this case an envelope, and it has no identifier, so call it what you want!” Diane
