2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp cloves
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Blend sugar and shortening, add eggs and molasses. Mix well and add dry ingredients. Chill dough. Roll into balls size of walnuts (makes a large cookie) and dip in sugar before putting in the oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes. Cookies will be soft. Let sit for a few minute before moving to a rack to cool.
