2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. hot coffee
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. molasses
2 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. ginger (opt)

Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 375º.

Dissolve soda in coffee. Mix all together and drop by teaspoon on buttered pans. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes. Cool; frost with favorite frosting.
