1 head green cabbage - cut in eights
4 slices bacon - diced
1/2 tea salt
1/2 tea pepper
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Put two cups of water in a pot large enough to cook the cabbage, Add everything except the cabbage. Turn up the heat. When the water reaches a rapid boil, add the cabbage. Cover and cook 10 minutes. Remove the lid and stir. Cover again and cook 12 minutes. Serve with slices of onion on the side.
