Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp. salt

2 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
1) Butter sides of a heavy 2 qt. saucepan. Combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt in buttered pan.

2) Cook to 260º, stirring only until sugar dissolves. As you are waiting for the temperature, beat egg whites in small mixing bowl until peaks form, but not dry.

3) Add the syrup to egg whites, beating at high speed with electric mixer. Add vanilla and beat until candy holds shape, about 5 minutes. Candy will just start to lose its gloss.

4) Quickly stir in nuts and spread onto lightly buttered 8 inch square pan. Cool before cutting into pieces.
