Cookie ingredients-
1 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 cups flour

Frosting ingredients-
1/4 c. margarine or butter
4 cups powdered sugar
2 egg whties
1 tsp. vanilla
1-2 tsp. light cream
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
(food coloring if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Cookie dough-
Cream margarine, add sugar gradually while creaming the margarine until light & fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Stir dry ingredients together in a separate bowl, once well blended, add gradually to creamed ingredients. Chill 3 or 4 hours. roll out and cut into desired shapes
& bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 8-10 minutes.

Frosting instructions-
Blend butter & sugar. Add unbeaten egg whites, vanilla, & cream of tartar. Beat thoroughly then add cream & coloring. Frost cookies once they are cooled completely.
