1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 t. vinegar

Directions:
Prepare shallow flat pans, (tin pie pans are ideal) no need to grease. Break walnut meats & place scattered into pans.

Combine in a large sauce pan: sugar, water, butter & vinegar. Bring to a boil, turn down heat & cook slowly, candy has a tendency to burn easily so it is necessary to cook over a low heat. Do not stir after bringing to a boil. Cook to hard crack & pour over walnuts. When cool, hit the pan on flat surface & candy will crack out of pan.
