1/2 c. butter
1/4 t. salt
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg whites (unbeaten)
3 t. baking powder
16 Maraschino cherries chopped
1 small package chopped walnuts
2 t. almond
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. cherry juice (combine milk & cherry juice together)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter& sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add salt to egg whites: beat until stiff. Sift f50 degrees.lour with baking powder three times, combine with shortening mixture, alternating with cherry juice & milk. Beat at medium speed until thoroughly mixed. Add cherries and walnuts. Fold in egg whites carefully. Bake in greased pans for 20 minutes or until cake pulls away from the sides of the pan. Test middle with fork. 3
