Cookies:

1 c. sugar
2 eggs
½ c. butter or margarine
¼ tsp. salt
¼ c. milk
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. baking soda

Icing:

3 T. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
3 T. milk
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cookies:

Cream together the butter, sugar and eggs. Combine milk and vanilla and add to the creamed mixture. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Roll dough out thin on a floured surface. Cut into shapes. Bake about 10 minutes.

Icing:

Melt the butter and remove from heat. Add vanilla, salt and milk. Mix well. Add enough powdered sugar to make the frosting thick enough to spread.

You may add food coloring if desired. To make chocolate frosting add 3 T. cocoa.
