1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture until well incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.

Drop 2-tablespoons portions, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.

Bake at 400º about 6-8 minutes, until cookies are lightly browned and no longer wet in the center.
