1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 c sugar
1 tsp treacle
4 eggs
1 c sifted flour
1 1/3 tsp baking powder
1 # mixed fruit
2 oz maraschino cherries halved
2 T chopped almonds
2 T ground almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 300º.

Line 8" square cake tin with parchment paper.

Cream butter and sugar. Whisk treacle with eggs then beat into cream mix a little at a time. Add some of the sifted flour if the cream starts to curdle. Fold in flour and baking powder then add fruit and nuts. Mix well. Put in greased cake pan.

Bake for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
