1/4 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1/8 t. salt
2 T. cocoa
2 c. milk
3 eggs, separated
1 T. butter
1/2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients. Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks. Stir small amount of hot mixture into yolks and pour back into sauce pan until thick (2-3 minutes0. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pastry shell.

Beat egg whites, 1/2 t. vanilla and 1/4 t. cream of tarter until frothy and stiff. Gradually add 5 - 6 T. of sugar while beating.

Add to top of pie and brown @ 375º for approximately 10 minutes.
