3/4 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
1/2 stick Crisco baking stick butter flavored shortening
1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 large egg
1 3/4 all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt

Heat over to 375º. Combine peanut butter, shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilaa in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add egg. Beat just until blended. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended. Drop a walnut size rounded scoop of dough, 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet. Flatten slightly in a crisscross pattern with a fork that has been dipped into sugar. Sprinkle additional sugar if you like before placing in oven.
