½ c. brown sugar
13 tbsp. butter, divided
2 ponds peaches, halved and pitted
2 ¼ c. all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground ginger
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ½ c. sour cream

Directions:

In a 10-inch cast iron skillet, cook the brown sugar in 5 tablespoons of the butter until dissolved. Off the heat, arrange the peach halves, cut sides up, in the pan. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. In a large bowl, beat the remaining 8 tablespoons of butter with the white sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture by thirds, alternating with the sour cream. Spread the mixture over the paces and bake at 350º F. until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes.
