Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
2 Tbsp. warm Water
1 C. Sugar
1 C. Flour
1 C. Milk
(Additional 2 C. Sugar, 2 C. Flour and 2 C. Milk will be needed as Starter grows).

Directions:
Directions:
Day One: Combine yeast, warm water and a "pinch" of sugar in a cup; allow to stand for a few minutes until it begins to foam.
In a large glass or plastic bowl (do not use metal) combine sugar, flour and milk with a wooden or plastic spoon (do not use metal). Stir in yeast mixture.
Cover loosely and keep at room temperature.
Days Two, Three and Four: Stir thoroughly once each day.
Day Five: Add and stir in 1 C. Sugar and 1 C. Flour. Then stir in 1 C. Milk.
Days Six, Seven, Eight and Nine: Stir thoroughly once each day.
Day Ten: Add and stir in 1 C. Sugar and 1 C. Flour. Then stir in 1 C. Milk.

Remove 4 C. of the mixture. Give 1 C. each to three friends to use as a starter. Give them a copy of this recipe (and the recipe for Amish Friendship Bread), they need to place it in a glass bowl and start with Day Two.

Use the remaining 1 C. of Starter and what remains in the bowl, to make Friendship Bread.
