Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cloves
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts
2/3 cup butter
1 & 1/2 cup sugar
1 & 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 & 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour a fluted tube pan (angel food cake pan). In a separate bowl combine flour, allspice, cloves, walnuts, and raisins; set aside. In a large mixing bowl cream together sugar and butter. Gradually mix in flour mixture. In a another bowl mix together applesauce and baking soda, (this will make the applesauce foam a little) then add to the cake batter. Mix all ingredients until thoroughly blended but avoid over-mixing. Batter will be stiff. Pour into prepared tube pan. Bake about 65 minutes at 350º. Cool completely and remove from pan. You may wish to dust the cake with powdered sugar.

Be sure to add ingredients in order indicated or the cake will turn out differently. Also, because it is a dense cake, it can be more difficult to get out of a bundt pan, so it is best to use a tube pan with straight sides.
