Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 C flour
1 1/4 C Crisco, Butter Flavored
1 tsp salt
1 egg
5 T cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Measure flour and salt into mixing bowl.
Using a pasty blender with up and down motion, cut in the shortening until particles are tiny, or "beaded".
Add egg and some cold water a little at a time, tossing with a fork.
Mix until all flour is moistened and almost cleans the side of the bowl.
Gather dough together with hands and press firmly into a ball.
Handle dough like a snowball so shortening doesn't melt in the heat of your hands.
Divide into 3 or 4 balls of dough and freeze.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I use Butter Flavored Crisco because I like butter flavor. I put cold water in a measuring cup and put in an ice cube so the water is ice cold. With practice you will learn how much water to use so you don't have to measure it. Humidity makes a difference. Edie gets 3 crusts out of this recipe, I get 4.
