4 c. water (1/2 c. used to dissolve yeast)
5 tbsp. sugar
5 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. shortening (melt shortening & sugar in water in pan)
2 tbsp. yeast (dissolve in 1/2 c. of water) Mix in bowl with other ingredients
12 to 14 c. flour (add little at a time to consistency desired

Raise until almost to top of bowl. Make into loaves. Let raise again. Bake 45 minutes at 375º

(If making into rolls, bake for 30 minutes at 375º)
