2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 squares unsweet chocolate, melted & cooled
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. broken nut meats

Directions:

Sift flour once, measure, add salt, soda, baking powder & sift again. Cream butter with sugar till light & fluffily. Add egg & beat thoroughly. Blend in chocolate. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, beating til smooth after each addition. Stir in vanilla & nuts.
Drop dough by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a moderate oven (375º) about 10-12 minutes
Frost with chocolate flavored, uncooked confectioners sugar frosting if desired
