1 C Butter
1/2 C Sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 C quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
Red or green tinted decorator's sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. In medium bowl, combine flour and salt. Add butter mixture; mix well. Stir in oats.

On surface lightly coated with confectioners sugar, roll dough to 15 x 12 inch rectangle. Cut the 12 - inch side into 2 -inch strips and the 15- inch side into 1 1/2-inch strips.

Heat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheet. Place cookies on prepared cookie sheet; sprinkle with decorator's sugar. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
