1/2 pound sweet butter
1/2 c powdered sugar
2 c flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients with a pastry blender until it resembles course meal. Then work the mixture with your hands and form the dough into a ball. Pat the mixture into an ungreased 9x9 inch pan or into greased shortbread molds. Pierce the dough every couple of inches with a fork. Bake at 300 for 40 min. Cut into small squares while warm. Serve plain or with a dab of honey butter spread on warm shortbread. It's a taste straight from heaven.

Honey Butter : 2 sticks softened butter
1/2 c honey
2 T cream
Beat the ingredients well and refrigerate until ready to use.
