1 orange
2 1/2 cups water
2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 750 ml bottle good whiskey
maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Peel rind off of orange with a vegetable peeler. White pith on the fruit is fine. In a saucepan, combine the orange rind, water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and discard the rinds. Cool completely. In a pitcher, stir together the cooled mixture with the lemon and lime juices. To serve, pour over ice and garnish with a cherry.
