4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. sugar
1 can evaporated milk, plus enough water to make 2 2/3 c. liquid

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs until well mixed. Add rest of ingredients & mix well. Beat eggs at least 3 minutes (this is the secret). Top with nutmeg. Pour into unbaked pie shell & bake at 450º oven for 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350º and bake 25 minutes longer or until knife inserted halfway between outside and center of custard comes out clean.
