2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. canned pumpkin
1 t. vanilla
chocolate chips- optional

Directions:

Grease a cookie sheet. Stir together dry (first 5) ingredients in a bag.
In a mixer bowl beat butter for 30 seconds; add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add eggs, pumpkin, and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients and beat till well combined. Fold in chocolate chips if you want. Drop teaspoonful from 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
