2 qts. water
1 qt. cider vinegar
1/3 c. salt (not iodized)
1/2 c. brown sugar
small button garlic
pickle size cucumbers
grape leaves (if available)
dill weed
1/4 tsp. alum in each bottle

Directions:
Directions:
Combine water, vinegar, salt, brown sugar. Bring to a boil. In each sterilized bottle put a grape leaf in the bottom. Add cucumbers, garlic button,1/4 tsp. alum and dill weed. Top bottle with a grape leaf. Put on sterilized lids on top. Let sit several months before serving.

I put in this recipe for historical purposes. Grandma Webster was a good cook but didn't use recipes. Interesting that grape leaves are used.
