1/2 bushel tomatoes crushed (or 4 large cans)
2 bunches carrots
1 qt onions
12 sweet peppers
4 or 5 hot peppers
1/4 cup salt of to tast
4 cups sugar
3 tsps allspice
1 tsp celery salt
3 tsps cinnamon
1 tsp blck pepper
2 tsps cloves
1 qt vinegar
4 cans apple sauce
Directions:
Directions:
Bring tomatoes to a boil. Add ground carrots, onions, & peppers. Stir constantly. When tender add salt, sugar, & spices. When boiling again add vinegar then apple sauce to thicken. Stir. Place in hot pint jars and seal. Delicious with meats and with peas.
