1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
3 whole eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup melted butter
1 heaping cup chopped pecans
9" unbaked pie crust (or use recipe below)

Easy Flaky Pastry
2 1/4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup shortening at room temperature
5 Tbsp. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Combine syrup, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. Mix well. Add slightly beaten eggs and mix together.
Pour into an unbaked 9" pie shell. Sprinkle nuts over the top.
Bake for approximately 45 minutes at 350º

PASTRY DIRECTIONS:
In a bowl mix flour and salt. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening til the size of peas. Blend 1/3 cup of flour and shortening mixture with the water. Add to the rest of the mixture. With a fork, mix until dough holds together. Form pastry into smooth ball between hands and then roll out.
