¾ c. sugar
½ c. butter
½ c. maple syrup
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
¾ c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. Soda
2 tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Cloves
¼ tsp. Allspice
Directions:
Directions:
Cream: Sugar & butter
Add: eggs and vanilla
Sift all dry ingredients together
Alternately add buttermilk and dry ingredients
Bake in oblong or layers

Bake @ 350 for 25 – 30 min.

Spice Cake Icing

Bring to a boil:
¾ c. brown sugar 1 stick butter ¼ c. milk
Take off heat and Add: 2-3 c. powdered sugar and beat
