A lot of Watermelon Rinds without the green parts and the red parts
1 Qt of Vinegar
3 lbs of sugar
2 Tea of cloves
2 Table cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Pare off the green part of rind, trim off red part, cut in pieces two inches in length. To each quart of rind use one teaspoon salt and water to nearly cover. Boil until tender enough to pierce with silver fork. Drain
Make syrup with the above recipe, put in melon rind and cook 15 minutes

Grandma Dorman would make lots of these and put them in jars for the winter. We all loved these pickles but more fun was had to eat all the watermelon to make the pickles
