1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food coloring
1 T. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour 2 cake pans.
Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs.
In a small bowl or 2 c. measuring cup(less splatter), mix food coloring, cocoa, vanilla and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Add flour and buttermilk alternately.
Bake for 30 minutes or until tests done.
Mix together vinegar and baking soda and add to the batter.
