Ingredients: 10-12 Servings: 1 ½ c. catsup ½ c. brown sugar 1 t. celery salt 1 t. dry mustard 1 t. paprika 1 t. onion salt (or) 2 T. minced dry onion 2 T. Worcestershire Sauce
65-70 Servings: 1 gallon catsup 3 cups brown sugar 3 T celery salt 3 T dry mustard 3 T paprika 3 T onion salt (or) 1/2 minced dry onion 1 1/4 cups Worcestershire Sauce

Directions:Combine all ingredients. Mix well and simmer on low heat until well blended and heated through. This mixture will keep in the refrigerator for a long time.
Great on burgers, chicken, spareribs and makes wonderful sloppy joes – just brown meat and cover.
To make delicious hamburgers – brown first. I prefer browning them on the grill. After the patties are browned on both sides cover each patty with sauce and place in Dutch oven or roaster pan and pour on remaining sauce (I generously cover the meat). Cover and simmer slowly or bake in a 225 degree oven for 2 – 2 ½ hours. The large recipe covers about 65 hamburgers ¼ pound each.
Brown the chicken and ribs before combining with sauce and follow the burger directions. |
