1 cup butter (1/2 pound)
1 cup light corn syrup

Directions:
Clean and dry apples. Insert popsicle sticks or dowels into blossom end of apples using a mallet or hammer. Sprinkle sugar evenly in bottom of cookie sheet.

Cook brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and milk over medium heat stirring constantly with a pancake turner. Cook to 232-234º or until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Add marshmallows and stir until dissolved. Keep pan on low heat and dip apples, twirling to get rid of excess caramel. Place on sugared cookies sheet.

Hot caramel for dipping apple slices:
Place all ingredients except marshmallows in a crockpot. Cook on high for 30 minutes then reduce heat to low for 2 more hours, stirring occasionally. Stir in marshmallows and serve with apple slices.
