4 C. peeled, cored and slice apples (Granny Smith)
1 tsp. ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground Nutmeg
1/2 C. Water
1 tsp. Lemon Juice
1 C. Sugar
3/4 C. Flour
1/2 C. Dry Oatmeal
1/2 C. Butter, cold

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Place apple slices into a greased casserole or a square 8" x 8" pan. Sprinkle with the spices. Add water and lemon juice, sprinkle over the apples and spices.
In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour and oatmeal. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over the apple and spice mixture in the pan. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serve warm with whipped cream or cinnamon ice cream.
