2 med. cucumbers, washed and pared
2 tea. salt
3 Tbsp. vinegar
3 Tbsp. water
1/2 tea. sugar
1/4 tea. paprika
1/4 tea. pepper
1/2 clove garlic, minced

1 cup sour cream - do not add to above ingredients.

Thinly slice cucumbers into a bowl. Sprinkle the salt over the cucumber slices. Mix lightly and set cucumbers aside for 1 hr.
Meanwhile, mix together and set aside the rest of the ingredients.
Squeeze cucumber slices a few at a time (discarding liquid), and put into a bowl. Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumbers and toss lightly together. Add 1 cup of thick sour cream. Sprinkle onto cucumbers 1/4 tea. paprika.
Chill the salad in refrigerator for 1 - 2 hrs.

My grandmother used to make this all the time and I loved it. It has only been recently that I found the recipe (at a pot luck dinner). It is so good - if you like cucumbers.
