8 6 oz. pieces round steak
1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups water
Directions:
Directions:
Dredge meat with mixture of flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Brown meat in hot oil on both sides. Remove meat from pan, reserving drippings.

Place meat in baking dish. To drippings in pan, stir in remaining flour mixture. Gradually add water and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. If too thick, add a little milk. Pour over meat. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and place in preheated 350-degree oven. Bake until tender, about 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

VARIATION:
8 oz. fresh musrooms, sliced
1 cup sour cream
1 cup sliced or large diced onions
2 tablespoons chopped parsley, optional

After browning meat, place meat in baking dish alternating with layers of mushrooms and onions. Proceed with making gravy. Before pouring over meat, blend in the sour cream.

Place meat on a platter. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired. Thin or thicken gravy as necessary. Serve in gravy boat.

would order meat portions (I asked for cubed steaks) from my supplier to insure uniformity of size. Also, the cubed steaks helped to make it more tender.
