1 c. milk
5 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 small cake of yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
6 c. sifted flour
6 tbsp. melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk, add sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water, then add to lukewarm milk. Add 3 c. flour and beat until perfectly smooth. Add melted shortening and remaining flour or enough flour to make easily handled dough. Knead well. Place in greased bowl. Cover and set in a warm place, free from drafts. Let rise until doubled in size ( about 1 1/2 hours). Make into rolls, greasing well and place in pan. Cover and let rise again until light ( about 1 hour). Bake in hot over ( 425º) about 20 minutes.
