20 lg apples cores & peeled
4 c. water
2 1/2 c. sugar
Cinnamon to taste (opt.)

Diane uses cinnamon and nutmeg or apple pie spice.

Cook apples down in large pot until mushy. Use potato masher to get out lumps. Add sugar, bring to boil. Pour into hot pint bottles. Add lids. Process 25 minutes in water bath.
