2 c. Water
Canola Cooking Spray

Directions:
Remove the skin from the chicken.[ In 2012 it is recommended by the CDC not to wash your chicken before seasoning it. Contaminating the sink is an issue today. Use disinfectant counter wipes if you rinse your chicken. I use Purdue Brand chicken.]
Season the chicken pieces with Penzey's Forward Spice or a combination of Freshly Ground Pepper, Onion Powder, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Turmeric, Celery Powder, Rosemary, Thyme and Basil, dried.
In a Dutch Oven saute chicken pieces in pan sprayed with Canola Oil Spray on medium high heat until golden brown. Add 2 cups of hot water and 1 cube of Knorr's Chicken Bouillon. Cover and bring to a simmer turning chicken over twice for one hour. If the gravy isn't thick enough add a slurry of 1 t. cornstarch and 1/8 c. cold water. Serve with your favorite vegetable and rice, mashed potatoes or noodles.

Personal Notes:
On Penzey's Forward Spice the bottle reads, "In flavor and kindness we will find our way forward."
This spice takes me back in time to the flavor of my mother's baked chicken.
