1 lb yogurt
1 lb ground beef
1 can of chick peas
2 tbsp tahini paste (optional)
1/4 cup almonds, pine nuts or both (sautéd with 3 tbsp butter or olive oil)
3 loaves of pita bread
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp lemon juice
salt and black pepper (to taste)
dash of paprika
1 small bunch of chopped parsley for garnish

Blend yogurt and minced garlic with salt, lemon juice, and tahini. (If the sauce is too thick, add water.) Sauté the nuts to a light/golden color. Carefully scoop out just the nuts and set aside for later. In the same pan (with the aromatic infused oil) add the ground beef and cook it with salt and pepper.

Rinse the canned chick peas and cover them in a pot of water and boil. When chickpeas are done, drain the chick peas and set aside. Cut pita bread into 1 inch squares and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown or just toasted.

Food Assembly:

Lay all the ingredients out on the table. First, in a large and deep serving dish, place the fried bread in the dish and pour all the mixed yogurt on top to cover all the fried bread. Add the cooked ground beef and spread on top of the bread using all the cooked oil from the pan. Then sprinkle the chickpeas and add those on top of the beef. Lastly, add the toasted pine nuts and paprika on the top. Garnish with the chopped parsley. Serve right a way.
