Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup water
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/3 cup salt
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except food coloring in a 2 qt. saucepan. Cook over low-med heat, stirring. Once it begins to thicken, add the food coloring. Continue stirring until the mixture is much thicker and begins to gather around the spoon and pull away from the pan. Place dough on wax paper or a plate to cool. Enjoy!

Personal Notes:
After making this, I would suggest you use a wire whisk to initially break up the flour and remove lumps before it thickens, then use a wooden spoon the rest of the way. Also, add the food coloring once the mixture is mixed well. Don't wait too long to add it or it won't get mixed in and the color won't be right. This is a very easy recipe to make, and it won't flake like regular Playdough, and has a longer shelf time (doesn't dry out as easily as store-bought). Plus if kids eat it, it's all natural ingredients so no worries. Have fun!
