2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Stir sugar, corn syrup and water until dissolved. Boil on medium heat to 240º. Slowly pour 1/3 over stiffly beaten egg whites beating constantly. Cook remaining syrup to very hard ball stage (265º). Test. Add several drops to water - Mixture will form a ribbon that bends when lifted from water. Beat syrup in candy mixture, continue beating. When mixture holds its shape when dropped from a spoon, add 1 tsp. vanilla and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
