1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. egg substitute
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Shell:
1 (12-oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 T. shortening

Beat butter at medium speed until creamy; gradually add sugars, beat well. Add egg substitute and vanilla; beat well. Add flour to butter mixture; beat well. Stir in miniature chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Cover and freeze the balls until very firm. Place chocolate chips and shortening in a 1-quart glass bowl; melt mixture in microwave according to package directions. Quickly dip frozen balls into melted chocolate, coating completely. Place on waxed paper to harden. Store truffles in refrigerator.
