3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, then add molasses and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Mix well. Roll in small balls of 1 inch or less. Coat balls in sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees about 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
