Ingredients:
2 1/2 c. water
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. milk
1 1/4 c. corn meal combined with 1/2 c. cold water
thyme (optional)
1/2 c. grated cheese (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring 2 1/2 c. water, milk and seasonings to a simmer. Stir cornmeal mixture into water and milk mixture. Cook for 30 minutes or longer, stirring quite often so it doesn't burn. When mixture is thick, pour in loaf pan or casserole. The recipe I found says to stir in thyme and 1/2 c. grated cheese before putting in loaf pan. Slice when cold and fry on a griddle until golden brown.

Personal Notes:
I have never made this, however it is on the menu every time we go to the New Dinner Theater. They have a few different paper-thin toppings, having a cheese and tomato base. Wonder if this is what the Indians would have called corn meal mush.
