3 1/2 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c warm water
3/4 c sour cream
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
375º oven

Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl. Cut in shortening, dissolve yeast in warm water, stir into flour mixture with sour cream, eggs and vanilla.

Mix well with hands. Roll 1/2 dough on sugared board into oblong 8 x 16". Fold ends toward center, overlapping ends, sprinkle with sugar and roll out again, repeat 3 times.

Cut into strips 1"X 4" and twist (spiral) into horse shoe shape, place on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 375º for 15 minutes, till a delicate brown color.
